The APEC Climate Center (APCC) held the Workshop on Agricultural Water Management Against Climate Change with the Korea Rural Community Corporation (KRC). This workshop was held to strengthen the ability of participants to develop projects that tackle climate change for their country-specific needs. In particular, this workshop focused on the official development assistance (ODA) fund of the Korean Government, which is intended to promote economic development and to improve quality of life in developing countries.
Experts of both organizations presented on the Integration of Adaptation and Mitigation in Climate Change Using Climate Information, Guidelines to ODA project preparation, and other related topics, as well as sharing information on agricultural water management of each country to effectively prepare for climate change.
By increasing the ability of developing able to independently develop projects about climate change and cooperate with specialized organizations, which are related to climate-sensitive sectors like agriculture, water resources, disasters, APCC hopes to encourage domestic organizations to participate in the project of developing countries.
