Gwangju holds tree planting event
The City of Gwangju on the 20th, Tuesday held a tree planting event in commemoration of the 73rd Arbor Day on April 5th.
The event held at Okdong Park in Gwangsangu District was attended by some 500 people including Gwangju Mayor Yoon Jang Hyeon, city officials, members of local civic organizations and citizens.
Some 300 sweet osmanthus trees and 1,000 royal azalea trees have been planted.
The city plans to hold more tree planting events to create eco-friendly atmosphere around the city and contribute to urban gardening.
